What is MISAC?

MISAC is the Microbiology in Schools Advisory Committee. Its members represent a wide range of educational institutions and scientific organisations.
MISAC is committed to promoting the teaching of microbiology in schools.
MISAC exists to help teachers recognise the potential of micro-organisms as educational resources and to advise on practical work with micro-organisms.
MISAC provides authoritative advice on the safe use of micro-organisms.
MISAC has close links with CLEAPSS and the Association for Science Education. It has a stand at the ASE Annual Meeting.
MISAC advises awarding bodies, the DfES and other national and government bodies on issues related to microbiology and biotechnology.
